On Ash Wednesday, February 26, we begin our 40-day journey toward Easter with a day of fasting, and repentance with a Preparatory Worship Service @ 7 pm. Marking our foreheads with dust, we acknowledge that we die and return to the earth. At the same time, the dust traces the life-giving cross indelibly marked on our foreheads at baptism. While we journey through Lent to return to God, we have already been reconciled to God through Christ. We humbly pray for God to make our hearts clean while we rejoice that "now is the day of salvation."
Lenten Meals have been affected by the Coronavirus and are cancelled until at least Friday, March 27. However, you can worship at home: the Focus for worship is "Enjoying Jesus" 12 Experiences to Draw You Closer. The experiences feature the Spiritual Disciplines. Click here for more information.
Stations of the Cross: On Sunday, March 29, St. Paul's will celebrate Stations of the Cross following the 9:30 am worship service. Please plan to come and experience the successive journey from Jesus' condemnation by Pilate to his crucifixion and burial. A light meal will be served after the stations.
A Maundy Thursday Tenebrae Worship Service will be held on Thursday, April 9 @ 7 pm. Tenebrae or Service of Darkness will include dramatic readings of Jesus' final days in Jerusalem with the gradual extinguishing of candles and the stripping of the altar to symbolize the events of Holy Week.
Easter Sunday, April 12, will feature two worship services:
