Lent
Lent began on Ash Wednesday, February 18m with worship @ 7 pm. The word Lent comes from Middle English and German words for springtime. In light of the start of baseball season, some people call the pre-Easter season "spring training for Christians." This fresh perspective moves away from the flawed understanding that Lent must be somber, or that giving something up for Lent is punishment for sin or a way to earn God's favor. But every so often — at least once a year! — we do well to examine where we need to get back in shape spiritually. May the spring training of Lent strengthen and heal us all.
Holy Week:
- A Preparatory Worship Service - Wednesday, April 1 @ 7 pm.
- Maundy Thursday Worship with Holy Communion- April 2 at 7 pm
- A Community Good Friday worship service on Friday, April 3 @ 2 pm in Hoffer Auditorium.
Easter Sunday:
Easter Sunday, April 5 will feature two worship services:
- 8 a.m. Early Morning Easter Worship in the Memorial Garden followed by a light breakfast served until 9:20 a.m.
- 9:30 am Easter Worship Service with Holy Communion in the Sanctuary.
